Took Clay and Molded a Prison...This is no HC or MOP, May 31, 2002
Reviewer: Mike L. from Pennsylvania

OK...I'm a Creed fan!!! I just want to start off by saying that. I've been following them since the MOP days and I've seen them in concert twice. I anxiously awaited the new CREED ALBUM WEATHERED by going and buying it at 7am on the morning of November 20th right before school. I was so siked, the new album by my favorite band is finally here. Now, I have to say that when I first got the CD I thought that they were great and I was always thinking to myself that Creed could have done better. Listening to this album..they just don't have the same intensity that they had on the last two very excellent efforts. I mean come on now...3 weeks put into this album!!! Give me a break!!! The bass is missing and so r some more meaningful lyrics. I have to admit..some tracks on Weathered keep me entertained. Bullets is by the far one of the worst creed songs out there. They tried too hard to try and make another What If? but there is only ONE "WHAT IF?". Freedom Fighter is a decent song..but its too repeatative for its 2:47 running time. Whos Got My Back is one of Creeds best most epic songs. Signs is an OK rocker and One LAst Breath just blows me away as being one of the best songs on the album...OLB and Weathered remind me a lot of the old Creed. My Sacrifice is too much like higher and too overplayed on the radio already. Stand Here With Me is just too pop-ish like. Hide is a wonderful song...the first "love" song ever attempted by Creed which turns out to be a very good tune. I think that Don't Stop Dancing could have been done without the chior and it would have turned out better. The album..which in my opinion was kind of WEATHERED..ends nicely with the calm accustic # Lullaby. This album mixes great with the other older songs live..but don't waste ur time buying the CD..just go see them live. Thats ur best bet. And if your new to Creed...my advice is to start from the beginning. Their Cd's are kind of like a musical spiritual journey and MUSt be listened to in order just to get a feel of how much they've changed. MOP is an excellent album and Human Clay follows-up even BETTER. Weathered is just no HC or MOP. Look at the stats for instance. 3 #1 singles off of HC....4 #1 singles off of MOP. And both combined to sell over 15 million records. Weathered went 5x platinum in its first month and already has 3 singles released...result: NOTHING!! Creeds new album is just too WEATHERED. I can honestly say I anxiously await their fourth album which I think will surpass the evils of Weathered but until then....TO BE CONTINUED.....
