I know that I already sent an apology of sorts to those that were offended about my response to "I Hate When People Bash Creed."
First let me start by saying to Jen, if for some reason you thought I was poking fun at you by my response, I wasn't. I really liked what you had to say. You were very eloquent in your e-mail.
The part about "place cuss word here" struck me very funny, by the way. I need to remember that when I feel the urge to say an offensive word in an e-mail.
Now when I wrote my response I only intended it as being a wisenheimer. I did not expect some of you to take a big offense to it. To those of you who were offended again I apologize.
I was just poking fun at those critics and other artists that talk trash about Creed. It's not like they read anything on this list anyway.
I don't truly think that people who don't listen to Creed are unintelligent, weak-minded, or stupid. But when it comes to those who ridicule them for being who they are I too take offense because those people, I feel, are blind. Not in the way you might think. Those critics who call Creed whiners or complainers only listen to content not context. They don't hear or feel Creed's music they way we do. It hasn't touched them they way it has us. The way I see it, their music has influence us to be better people. Creed's music has helped us emotionally and even spiritually. That's a wonderful thing.
The artist who talk trash or "bash" Creed, I feel, do that with other bands also. The music business can be a very competitive business. They all want that #1 spot and sometimes they'll go so far as to say "don't listen to anyone else, we're the best band in the world."
Creed has never really desired the money or fame that the music business has to offer they only wanted to get their message out and they've done a great job doing it.
For a band that no one wanted to take a chance on and has not gotten a lot of support from the media they've done an amazing job because of people like us who appreciate who they are and what they stand for.
As much as we hate it, it doesn't matter how good you think a band is, any band, there is always going to be someone who doesn't think the same way. We just have to accept the good with the bad. We might not lit but that's the way life is.
I've been on this list almost from the beginning, under different variations of my screen name due to relocation, it's only been the past couple years that I respond once in a while to a post. A lot of people have left and there are those that have been on almost as long as I have. Back when I first joined we joked around quite a bit. So, for those of you who were offended by my joke again I apologize for offending you. That was never my intention. I will keep it in mind that the next time I want to joke around I'll let it be known that, that's all I'm doing just to lighten up the situation.
