He may have felt perfectly fine at the time, but with back problems symptoms could show hours or even days afterword.  Better to send him to the hospital early than risk major complications later for not doing so.
 
He's also said that he was dazed and confused and even trembling at the time so I don't believe he was completely ok.  In other words, yes it could be a very big deal when concerning someone's health.
 
Also, hope you don't mind but I changed your font.  I couldn't read a single word of it with your original font.
