I bought a lot of new albums from various groups. So I really haven't listened to the Weathered album too much lately. There is definitely something important missing from the Weathered album, in my view. ... It might not be the absence of a bassist. But I really don't think that the bass is that noticeable on the Weathered album.... To me, the bass on Weathered does not seem to resonate or take on another degree of mastery. It seems to be just tight and scratchy lines played on the bass instrument. It might be because of different style of playing with the lead guitar, that Mark is accustomed to.
