"Wash away those years", to me seems to be about someone who was abused in some way when they were too young, too innocent...I think the songwriter wrote this in order that others who have also had to deal with horrendous atrocities, will know that they are not alone, and that somewhere the answers of how to deal with it, are out there.

I agree. I always thought that this song was about a child being
sexually abused by someone close to them. I thought that it was
written to bring the subject more out in the open. Children need
to know that they are not alone and actually DO have the power to
stop the abuse. That is IF adults listen and realize that this horrible
abuse is really being done to a child by someone that they all
love and trust. It must be horrible; I am glad that there are artists
out there with the guts to speak of the unspeakable. I love the
*fluffy* feel good music too, but whenever art is considered "great"...
it always seems to be the stuff that makes us stop and think.

I personally feel that many of the recent postings are a cop-out.....being able to be rude and cruel to others whose faces you do not face.

Yeah. It is too easy. Too easy to take out our frustrations on
each other. Many of us (I am including myself) are guilty of
this, we are only human. It is a very small percentage of the
list that seems to be constantly frustrated. These people (no
names or finger pointing here) are intelligent and do
contribute a great deal to the list (when they are not p*ssed
off at one of us). A few of these flamers have a fantastic sense
of humor too. I miss those posts. I do not miss their personal
attacks.

I really do think that the flames are much smaller now
though. Believe it or not...the personal insults have been
toned down a lot.
