================================================ Subject: Re: (no subject) From: "Lee Reed" To: Date: Fri 8 Mar 2002 02:16:23 -0500 ================================================ okay, so i guess i weigh in with my 2 cents...sharing mp3's is great publicity for bands, esp newer ones...and it's great when the bands WANT to share their music...but it doesn't change the fact that it is illegal to share/distribute copyrighted material...be it music, written word, pictures...so if you're not getting it directly from the band website, or label website, where they (the band) offers it for public 'consumption', it is legally a crime...and yes, many people do it...but that doesn't make it right...as i often say to my children, and if so and so jumps off a bridge...
