They (along with the RIAA and other musicians) forced a company that was facilitating the THEFT of their music to be SHUT DOWN. The notion that they lost money by being part of the lawsuit is totally ludicrous. They were losing money by virtue of Napster users STEALING their music, but it was never about the money anyway, so this line is totally irrelevant. If they alienated themselves from "fans" like YOU, who deem THEFT to be okay because of your skewed morals (or lack thereof), so much the better. -----Original Message----- From: Creed Discussion List [mailto:CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM] On Behalf Of Dave Pioli Sent: Friday, March 08, 2002 12:04 AM To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: (no subject) If you want to support your favorite band do it by going to see them live. That money goes directly to the band, not the label when you buy the Cd some goes to the band..most goes to the label company. Napster ,and the hundreds sites like them give bands another stage to be heard. Most of the bands were pro napster cause It opened the door for a lot of new talent. If you want to give money to the slavemasters its your freedom to do so.I want my money go right to the band. Creed is a great band no dout,. They are big enough to do what they want. Metallica shot themselves in the foot. They lost a lot more money since napster was shut down. They suffered a huge backlash from this. Now big bands Like U2, Dave matthews, and others they have grown bigger and bigger..Of course U2 they do nothing wrong..they have great Cds, the best tour, yet the do so much for the People..
