I could have saved myself some typing and just posted... "Yeah, what HE said!" -----Original Message----- From: Creed Discussion List [mailto:CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM] On Behalf Of ]\[][G}{T§TÖ®]v[ Sent: Thursday, March 07, 2002 8:52 AM To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: Re: burning cd's and downloading music Yes, you're absolutely right. Excuse me now while I go and download and burn a copy of Windows XP. I mean, Microsoft makes millions in the first week of releasing software, so why would they care if I stole one copy from them off the internet. If they didn't want me doing it, they wouldn't make it so damn expensive in the first place. And then I think I might go out to the car lot and steal a nice new Dodge Ram pick-up. If they didn't want me to steal it, they should have done something to make the trucks cost less. The way I see it, everyone should be able to drive a brand new truck whenever they want, and should be able to have the most stable operating system available to them whenever they need it. Most of the people who had heard Weathered when you were sending your review were AOL users... now, this might sound odd to you, but AOL had the ability to listen to the entire album before it's public release. It was all part of the fact that Creed was their Band Of The Month. Are you making any form of connection between this and people saying they had already heard the album? Before trying to shove facts about us in our faces, try doing some research. An archive search engine is available... I suggest you make use of it. Daniel, I think it's time you reviewed copyright laws... even when someone buys the CD, the music is still owned by the band and record company. That's how it works... and if you so believe that it's okay to outright steal from them, then not only can you not truly call yourself a fan (since you won't support the band) but I hope you don't mind people looking at you in a new light. And on a more personal note, I'm all for meeting list members, but remind me to never invite you by if you ever make it to this part of the world... I don't like associating with people who steal. Oh, and a beautiful attack on Keith for something totally unrelated to the topic of conversation. Amazing how people call HIM the asshole. People can afford to pay an internet bill every month, they can afford a CD burner, and they can afford a computer that will properly support that burner, and they can afford to purchase blank CDR's, and yet they can't afford to buy origional CD's? Give me a break... it's not a matter of what people can afford. It's a matter of people not WANTING to support the band that made the music, so they steal it off the internet instead. Hence the term THEFT. Read below for defenitions, as it would appear you have no clue what the terms 'theft' and copyright' mean.
