Only a few tunes on this third album blatantly mention God, and musically, the bulk of the 11 tracks traffic in muscular post-grunge heaviness, with plenty of hammer-of-the-gods beats and swaggering, canyon-wide guitar riffs, topped by Scott Stapp's lung-busting Vedder vocals. Too bad they aren't more original. While tunes like Bullets pack a decent punch, Creed, and Weathered, would be far more interesting if they didn't sound like a direct cross between Pearl Jam, Stone Temple Pilots and Tea Party. They may be subtle in some ways, but they're still pretty obvious in others.
