that's the least of your problems.

wait until 30 days from now when xp won't boot because you haven't activated it.  or when one of you needs the disk after a failure and the other person has it.

BTW, i'm running xp one one of my break/fix boxes and use norton and easy cd creater (the free version) so i blame your hardware.

Subject: NCR - computer question

Okay..I need an opinion here..I borrowed a friend's Windows XP disk so I could upgrade my computer..yeah yeah I know technically its illegal..but oh well..anyway, it ran into some major compatibility problems with my computer..it wouldn't run my Norton Antivirus..no big deal, I can get something else...it wouldn't run my cd creating software..I use Easy CD Creator 4..no problem, I would have just had to upgrade to 5..but once I had XP installed..I tried to sign on, I couldn't, I went to check my modem properties..it said I had no modem installed, so i went to go ahead and install my modem, it wouldn't detect it at all...I tried everything I could possibly think of and nothing worked..according to XP, I have no modem on my computer...so in my aggrivated state, I uninstalled XP and got my computer back to the way it was before..so does anybody know why I would have such a problem..I even went to microsoft's website and I couldn't find any info...but I have decided that ME is just being a piece of shit right now all of a sudden..and I was thinking about downgrading to 98..I have a Windows 98 upgrade disk I used when I had my other computer.  This computer came with ME on it. But will I be able to downgrade to 98 without any major problems? Any advice would be greatly appreciated!!
