Eh, I don't think I have a negative opinion, just a realistic one based on accounts that I've heard.  If I met him and he was nice, that'd be great, but I still don't think I'd be a huge fan of his.  I just can't begin to explain what it is about him.  Actually, I think part of it is because he is always the one that's front and center and it seems to me (opinion only) that Mark and Flip are forever in his shadow, hence the "big ego" reference.  But then again, they're both kind of quiet and demure and probably like being in the shadows, but what do I know..I'm just biased for Mark..lol

Maddy, you knew someone who knew him, so you had an "in" with him.  Most of the stories that have been told were about complete strangers talking to him or approaching him.  Remember that girl, Joey?  Her story about meeting Stapp was just horrible.  I dunno, Scott just exudes a "big ego" complex in my eyes so I'd just rather not meet him.  Like has been said over and over, I don't have to like him to like the music and the message.  I'll stick with Mark and Flip, I already know they're nice. :)

I guess you are right..in that I knew someone who knew someone.  But at basketball rock he was so nice to all the kids and very tolerant of their parents.  He could have just done the "rock star" thing, strolled in signed some stuff and left.  Nothing else was expected of him.  But he played basketball with the kids, and then with the parents, he posed for hundreds of pics, he signed cards and posters and shirts.  He was just a regular guy.

But, you are right, you don't have to like him to like the music.  I just wish you wouldn't form such a negative opinion of him without ever having met him yourself.  Who knows...maybe in Lakeland!
