Creed will begin a year of heavy touring Jan. 14 at the Lakeland (Fla.) Civic Center in support of its new Wind-Up album "Weathered," Billboard Bulletin reports. The band will hit 19 U.S. arenas until Feb. 17 and will head to Australia in March. Creed will play more U.S shows in April, Europe in May and June, then the bulk of its U.S. dates from July-November.
As tipped here earlier this month, Sevendust is likely to support some of the North American dates, but it's not yet clear which. A full itinerary has also not yet been finalized.
Asked recently on the Creed message board how the group's setlists will evolve with the addition of material from "Weathered," frontman Scott Stapp said, "we will definitely play all our singles, plus three songs from each record and rotate the set nightly. There will be some surprises along the way, including some covers that you've never heard so you'll just have to wait."
"Weathered" is expected to easily debut at No. 1 Thursday (Nov. 29) on The Billboard 200, with sales in excess of 800,000 units in the U.S. The single "My Sacrifice" is No. 2 on Billboard's Mainstream Rock Tracks tally and No. 5 on Billboard's Modern Rock Tracks chart this week.
