Well from a "pushing the envelope" perspective, I think the concept is as big as the pairing with SFSO for S&M.  I mean, we've seen Anthrax and Run DMC do it, and there have been others, but here, we're talking about the GREATEST of BOTH genres.  That alone would make it worthwhile, IMHO.  And I have NO doubts they'll be back around.  Just a matter of when.
 
NP: Hangar 18, Megadeth (another band I'd love to see tour with Metallica, if only because of the ties!)

 heh, Dre and Snoop....there's two artists I can live without seeing!  However, I will go see the very next Metallica concert in my area, no matter who they're touring with.  If and when...that is.
