It's also possible that they might still be working on the pages, which would also explain the broken links and such.  I'm pretty sure that it will speed up quite a bit once they're finally done with everything.

I think after Creednet loads for the first time, the site's loading time will speed up the nest time you look at the page.  It worked for me.  But, also the cookies may have affected the decreased loading time as well.
