The site loads quickly for me also. After it downloads the picture for the first time. One thing though, since the goal is to have new people go to the site. The first page might be informative. But quick on loading. I think that I'll visit this site more often. There looks like more content added. Did you browse the the b-sides and alternative versions section yet? Nothing there currently.
