================================================ Subject: Re: (Creed) I'm New (Kind of a long email) From: "Gina K." To: Date: Tue 20 Nov 2001 21:43:51 +0000 ================================================ Hey Mike! What's up? My name is Gina, I'm 16 and I live near Cleveland, Ohio (duh...of course it's in Ohio...LoL). I like your story about how you got into them. It's better than mine. I got into them during my freshman year of H.S. (I'm a junior now), when I was struggling with depression. A friend of mine recommended that I listen to the My Own Prison because it had helped him through tough times, so I did and the rest is history. :o) (I'm insanely happy now, btw! LoL) Unfortunately, I've never been able to see them b/c all the shows have been sold out. I hope to catch them on their next tour, though. :o) About that (creed) idea. We put NCR in the subject line of anything that's NOT Creed related so that the list members can delete anything that doesn't have to Creed if they don't want to waste time reading those messages (but these "other" discussions ARE interesting and you can join them at any time!) Also, since the new album, Weathered, just came out, you're probably looking at 150 or more messages a day. :o) Some other bands I like are Alien Ant Farm, Dave Matthews Band, Sum 41, Linkin Park, Disturbed, Sevendust, and Staind. But Nirvana and NIN are the bands I grew up on when I was in elementary school. LoL. You can find pictures of some of the listers (including me) at http://www.geocities.com/Creedlisters and if you want, you can submit a profile and your picture too. Now, to answer all those questions you had. The first time I heard Lifehouse's "Hangin' By A Moment," I thought it was a new Creed song. I am not even joking. That's the best answer I can give about the sounding-alike bands. But as soon as I found out it WASN'T Creed, I could tell the difference. I think some people hate Creed b/c they don't know the whole story behind them. They think they were overnight success like Backstreet Boys, when in reality they had been together for years before they finally broke through. As for MTV, they seem to cater more to Top 40 now more than ever. I remember in the early 90's it was all grunge they showed (at least from what I remember). They seem to go with whatever is trendy. So if all those teenyboppers don't like Creed, naturally MTV will ignore them. In my opinion anyways. Wow, I don't think I've EVER written this much before, LoL. :o) Later, _.-^Gina^-._ "There's a peace inside us all, let it be your friend..."--Creed "I tried so hard, and got so far, but in the end, it doesn't even matter..."--Linkin Park "The space between the tears we cried is the laughter that keeps us coming back for more..."--Dave Matthews Band NP: Creed, Weathered, "My Sacrifice" On Tue, 20 Nov 2001 11:48:40 EST Michael Kulics writes: > My top two favorite bands are Stabbing Westward and Creed (as I'm > waiting for > the rotten fruit to start flying at me for mentioning a band ahead > of Creed > ;-) ) I also like Pearl Jam, Nirvana, Tantric, Nine Inch Nails, and > A > Perfect Circle to name a few more. I just wanted to get your guys reaction to this. ________________________________________________________________ GET INTERNET ACCESS FROM JUNO! Juno offers FREE or PREMIUM Internet access for less!
