Well said, Scott! I was about to type the EXACT same thing. My mom got an
AOL account a couple years and I had to BEG her to cancel, because there
were so many rules, annoying little features, blah blah blah it just got
to me. I'd rather have email and no Internet access than AOL with
EXTREMELY limited internet access, because some sites weren't viewable
with the AOL software, , violated those dumb Terms Of Service, etc.
Whatever though,

I know this topic has been done to death....but here I go again!  Apparently your account was set with parental controls, because there isn't a site on the internet I'm denied access too....unless of course it's restricted for reasons other than being on AOL.  I have a cable connection, I don't need AOL at all.....but I prefer it, over relentless ad banners and pop-up windows and for that reason ALONE I would keep it...but there are many features that make it worthwhile.  As for your friends seemingly addicted to AOL, maybe it's because of it's ease of use...or maybe they were just out surfing the entire net.....not being restricted to just AOL.
