Mine comes from being subjected to ALL kinds of music.  I come from a large extended family, and I've picked up some listening habits from ALL of them.

I grew up hating country, because my mom forced it on me, but I have gained an appreciation for a limited selection of newer country artists (Garth, who puts on an INCREDIBLE concert; Travis Tritt, LeAnn Rimes, Shania Twain, maybe a couple others), and a VERY limited amount of rap (Dre, Snoop, Cypress Hill, and Beasties, who USED to be a punk band!)  I don't like "pop", though that term is VERY broad and can be misused, respect SOME R&B but don't care for it, have a limited appreciation for opera, though I LOVE most other classical music.

Although I don't care for every type of music there is, I do have an appreciation for all forms of music. Which is why I really can't bring myself to outright bash anyone's taste in music.  I think it's all those damn music classes I took.
