================================================ Subject: Re: Creed on MTV From: "Jo Penton" To: Date: Tue 6 Nov 2001 14:11:35 -0000 ================================================ This is my take on the issues of this thread; Comparing literary and musical greats such as Mozart and Shakespeare to Godsmack and Stephen King is laughable, at best! It's like comparing apples to oranges! The reason most of us this day and age don't prefer to listen to Mozart or read Shakespeare as our first choices is simply because we live in modern society! Back in Mozart's day, he WAS the hippest musician around! He appealed to the younger generation! As a matter of fact, he was the first teen idol! Do you think that in a hundred years our ancestors will appreciate our modern day favorites? Chances are that the answer will be "NO!" They will have their own modern-day artists to pump them up and challenge their minds. The point here is that you, Marc, have made your arguments and backed them up with plenty of examples that illustrate your opinions. You have even intrigued some of us on the list with your critiques. But quite simply, your arguments have become monotonously annoying. If you want to sharpen your debate skills any further, I personally ask that you unsubscribe from this list and join another. Hey! How about joining the Brittany Spears discussion list?? Or, if you are craving little more substance for your debates, you might consider the Madonna or Michael Jackson discussion lists. You see, a lot of us are very tired of reading your opinions, and I am obviously not the only person here that is tired of your drivel tainting my inbox. I have put your address on my "block," list, but evidently because you are subscribed to our discussion list your self-inspired repetitive opinions still manage to slip by my filters under the radar. You are akin to a heckler at a comedy show. It was interestingly challenging at first, but now it's old. You have shared your views and we have shared ours. It's over, Marc. Find another list to "challenge," PLEASE!
