Re: well met lisa Alright, for the last time, and I won't repeat myself yet again.  I wrote my little grammar treatise so that some people might see how ridiculous it was to critique anyone on this list, myself included, for poor grammar and spelling.  I guess some people missed its subtlety.  That's OK, perhaps it was too subtle.  But then the last poster quoted the following line from my e-mail:

Nevertheless, I think we should demand more of our pop
stars, don't you?

I thought that would have been a dead giveaway of my intent.  (Who has ever demanded any such thing of pop stars!?) So much for that.  There are two possibilities here.   Either people have been grossly misreading the e-mail or they think I'm a moron.  I can accept the latter, but the former is, in my mind, ridiculous.  People take things too literally.  Fuckin A...the same grammar critique could be levelled against any author who used a sentence fragment for dramatic effect.  It was a joke that blew up in my face.  Apologies.

ok Marc, I have refrained from saying anything about your posts, I feel that you have made some legitimate points, and I can get past your first post because you were drunk, blah, blah, blah.  But when you state that you think that we should demand more from songwriters, you're stepping over the line.  You're certainly entitled to your opinion, but when one writes passionately, they usually don't stop to make sure they are grammatically correct.  And you were also just saying that you can type quicker when ignoring "unnecessary" keys, well writing in all lower caps is not correct, but then again, you're more focused on what you're writing, am I correct?  I believe in speaking properly, but art is art.  I can not criticize any painting by Van Gogh anymore than I criticize lyrics.  I can certainly say that I don't like a painting or a song, but to dissect a piece of art destroys it's purpose--to see the whole picture.
Oh well, just my own opinion.
