I've always had very eclectic tastes (ranging from Slayer to Beethoven and all points in between), and am always interested in checking out something new. 2)I would of course draw the inevitable comparison to Metallica. They started out as a garage band, and through a combination of INCREDIBLY good and innovative music, and MASSIVE word of mouth, became the most pioneering band in ALL of metal. Radio and MTV came to THEM, NOT the other way around, and as such, they have earned a rightful place in the annals of rock as one of the greatest bands ever. 3)Brilliant. Simply brilliant. > The strokes are form the states, but they've been on bristish and german > radio for almost a year now (without even the release of the > album)...probably won't make it here. the only kind of station they'd get > on would be modern rock, and they haven't established enough credibility to > get their avant garde stuff on air. we'll see, but i doubt sincerely that a > strokes' single will make it. > > as for the bands who went back underground, that was partially a function of > intent on their part and partly a function of radio shifting away from them. > they were like, "fuck it, we want to make good music. we don't care if radio > won't play it, we've got more important things to worry about."
