I would rather use an operating system that is developed by those that have fun developing a system. Rather than those that think that I should send my hard earned money to them. So they can "give me what I want". Other than that. I probably will have XP available to try on my wife's proposed laptop. If I get her one for Christmas. About the court case. I really don't follow the court cases for Microsoft. But in casual hearing about the Microsoft antics. I remember hearing something about the browser being intermingled in code with the operating system. Or its file managing facilities. Out of curiousity, why is the IE6 not available for upgrade with Windows 95? But I believe that it is available for usage with Windows 98. I haven't tried to upgrade my wife's IE 5.5 browser. But I have tried to install it on Windows 95 machines. Which is not a given option for the IE6 browser. I know that the IE6 browser installs OK on my Windows ME machine. About the desktop appearance from earlier versions of Windows not being the same. I imagine that their are differences between the different versions of windows. Jim - who really doesn't pay for computer related operating systems. Unless they were part of the bundle that the machine that I purchased included. Kevin L. Brown wrote: > Oh, really?
