================================================ Subject: Re: Mostly NCR: Crow for B-fast is Yukky From: "Tara" To: Date: Wed 24 Oct 2001 18:06:51 -0400 ================================================ Thanks for the clarification, Jo, I'm glad that things seem to be pretty much straightened out now. And to make this more CR, let me explain myself on the "Bullets" issue. First and foremost, I'm still a fan of the band, and will continue to be even if I hate every future song they release (which I seriously doubt will happen). The MOP album is what made me a fan, and that album will still be there even if I don't like everything (or anything) from the third album. To make an example, I still consider myself a Stephen King fan, even though I enjoy his older work more than the newer, generally speaking. As for the song "Bullets", I just really didn't care for the style, regardless of who the band that created it is. It is, of course, entirely my opinion... and if everyone were to agree on everything, then there wouldn't be much up for discussion, would there? I've seen a lot of positive posts regarding the song too... probably moreso than the negative ones. I think the part right after the talking, at the very beginning of the song, is the part that caused me to not care much for the song... the yelling part. I've mentioned before that I like a lot of harder music, perhaps it's just that it's not what I expected from Creed. I look to Creed for insightful/inspirational/interesting songs... my favorite song is "One", because of the lyrics. Musically speaking, my favorite song would be "Torn" or "What If", or the melody in "To Whom it May Concern". Not caring for one song out of many doesn't make me a non-fan, in my opinion... it just means that I don't like that particular song. And it's not even that I hate the song, just that I don't have the same appreciation for it that I do for all their other songs. I also feel that the bass lines in both new songs are missing something, but that could be just because I was always so impressed with Brian's playing, and I know he didn't participate in this album. (In other words, it could very well just be my imagination that the bass lines are lacking in the new songs). Again, just my opinion... doesn't mean I'm right.
