So are you saying that since your musical mind "grew up" you could no longer be a fan of "pop" music?   Also, do you like country music?  That's music written and performed by truly talented people as well.  In my opinion, it's the fans that give "pop" music a bad rep.  I think that fans of "pop" music are all too often stereotyped  because all you see are these screaming lunatics talking about how cute some guy's hair looks or whatever.  That just makes people who actually enjoy the music look bad, it's like if you tell someone you like BSB they automatically think it's cuz you think they're cute. But if someone says they like a band like Staind, no one ever thinks it's cuz you find Aaron Lewis to be hot.  Think about it, if there was a person who liked Creed cuz she thought Scott was cute, vs. a person who liked BSB because she liked their music, then who is the true music fan. I would have to say it would be the latter. Even though I see Creed as being the more talented band or the band with more substance, that particular fan had absolutely no substance.  I have no clue if anything in this post has any relevance to anything, but whatever, take it for what it's worth.

Jess, you made some great points here.  As you guys know, I am 28 and I love pop music, as much as rock.  I get alot of flack for liking Nsync, and its exactly what you said about BSB..people assume I like them because of their looks which is not the case, even though they are good looking, I like them because I like their music and they are extremely talented. Its the music that's important. I have gone into Nsync chat rooms or message boards and have people tell me that I have no taste in music because I like them and I am stupid, etc..but I have never been insulted for liking any rock bands.   But I go agree with you too on pop's fan base..too many fans get so carried away and only like them cause they are cute, etc, and yes, it makes the fans like me, the ones who don't care what they look like look bad.  When I saw Creed last year there was this girl in front of me who, did not really know Creed's music, didn't even know their names, but she did know Scott's name..I knew this cause I was talking to her..and she said she thought Scott was hot..and at the show, she really didn't even get into the show..she looked bored, until Scott was in front of us..then she was all screaming and yelling to get his attention.  Okay, I forget where i was heading with this, but like Jess said, take it for what its worth.
