So help me to understand this... you think that because they (Scott in this case) say the song is about Jagger, that he must be lying and that it's really about God?  Umm... not to sound harsh, but not every song written is about a God.  In fact, you might be surprised, but many of them have nothing to do with God.  Why not accept the fact that the song might really be about what they say it's about.  When they write a song from a spiritual standpoint, they admit to it... I don't think they're dancing around any issues here, but instead writing a song about something other than a God.  There are other things in this world more important than a God, and those things tend to be written about as well... some people just fail to accept that.

I've seen the wicked fruit of your vine, Destroy the man who lacks a strong mind
Human pride sings a vengeful song Inspired by the times you've been walked on
My stage is shared by many millions, Who lift their hands up high because they feel this
We are one We are strong, The more you hold us down the more we press on
What if you did? What if you lied? What if I avenge? What if eye for an eye?

Seems to me that Creed is dancing around the issue that the song could be about God. How hard is it to say that!? Despite what they may think, there would be nothing to lose.
