As touching a movement as that may be, to have an entire country standing on their lawn with a candle in hand, this is unfortunately untrue.

First, consider that at 10:30 PM EDT time, it's 7:30 PM in California... is a candle going to do any good?

Second, even if the entire country were to do this, what are the chances that it would show from space?

Third, what about street lights? Office building lights? A candle is has no chance of outshining any of these things.

I think that this would be a great way for the country to build some spirit and unity up, but there won't be a photo coming from space of it...

I just heard on the radio that the U.S. has asked that everyone step out on
their lawns tonight at 10:30pm and light a candle. They will be taking a
satellite photo of the U.S. and posting it on the news tomorrow morning.
