================================================ Subject: Re: All these add up to 11 (my thoughts) From: "Tara" To: Date: Sat 15 Sep 2001 00:22:01 -0400 ================================================ Just as I expected... *sigh* If you don't like my opinion, then why didn't you just delete THAT? I'm entitled to respond to anything that is posted to the list, just as you are. My point is that there's no reason to needlessly scare people with little coincidences, whether you wrote it yourself or are just passing it along. The same thing with the "prophecies"... those are blatantly false, yet someone chose to pass it around as true, thereby scaring a lot of people needlessly. Pointing out coincidences with numbers is not portraying your point of view, it's a scare tactic, imo. And the right to be scared is exactly my point... aren't people scared enough without adding stuff like that to it? Planes were hijacked, thousands of people died, buildings burned and collapsed... isn't that enough? If you didn't send that post to scare people, then why did you send it? Yes, it's an interesting coincidence, but it really has nothing to do with the reality of the situation. The image in the smoke is more relevant (again, imo), as it's a natural occurrence, not retouched or thought up by people who want to add more to the horror of the situation. The reality is frightening enough. I'm not saying you were wrong to send it, I'm was simply trying to point out that it's a COINCIDENCE, it doesn't mean anything. I'm trying to allay people's fears when possible, not add to them. People are scared regardless of whether or not they're religious. In fact, the more religious people are MORE likely to be scared by these "signs" than non-religious people, since the non-religious people don't generally believe in "signs" like the number 11, pictures of the devil in smoke, and prophecies some dead guy wrote (or didn't write, in this case). For that matter, where in my post did I say that I'm not a religious/spiritual person? Not once did I say anything negative towards anyone who is a Christian, or just spiritual in general, so stop being so defensive. All I'm asking is that people stop to think before they post things like that... make sure it's true (as in the prophecies postings), and think about it... is there any point to sending it? Will it scare people needlessly, or is there a good reason for pointing it out? In times like this, it seems that we should be giving each other strength and hope, not giving further reasons to be afraid. ----- Original Message ----- From: creedtunesfan To: Sent: Friday, September 14, 2001 11:47 PM Subject: Re: All these add up to 11 (my thoughts) > Well, just like I said, I DIDN'T sit around and come up with this stuff, it > was sent to me by a friend.
