Population of 2500 or so, a one-block, one stoplight downtown that rolls up the sidewalks at 5 PM (or earlier). When I was in high school, the only dances that happened were the three formals per year. The nearest movie theater is 20 miles away, as is the nearest bowling alley. No dance clubs, museums, concert venues, 24 hour restaurants, lasertag/arcade/roller rinks or amusement parks within an hour's drive ... and you even have to have a car to go to parties, since the school district is very large in area and the students are spread out all over the countryside. There was a theory when I was in school that the lack of anything for teenagers to do after school hours was a large cause of the high teen pregnancy rates around here... ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Monday, September 10, 2001 8:06 PM Subject: Re: NCR: speed limit > I've been pretty close to it, no joke... > > In a message dated 9/10/2001 12:01:02 PM Pacific Daylight Time, > Lvablemm@cs.com writes: > > << I would lose my mind... > > Jen > > In a message dated 9/9/2001 12:31:32 PM Central America Standard Tim, > Moonchild119@AOL.COM writes: > > << See, I wish it was like that here...
