The new album is going to be a collaberative effort with other artists. With the 5 songs, (6 if you include the soundtrack from The Mummy Returns). The songs are shorter and have less depth. I guess that could be viewed as "selling out". But the album should have about 14 tracks. So it won't be a short album, playwise. I liked the songs. But they strike me a geared to propel Live into the popular music spectrum. Where there are more listeners. Creed did it with two songs. So some of the 14 tracks might be desirable for the popular music listener. I feel that Live is under some contract that requires them to do a certain amount of albums and make a certain amount of sales. If they want out of thier current contract. So they can regain some of thier deeper musical ventures. They have to meet some levels of sales and album releases. At least the songs are listenable, for someone that likes Live's other music ventures. Though, I didn't care much for "Waitress". I hope that the albums sell out. I am undecided about the concious effort from the band on "Selling Out". Though, I understand the slight switch in music auduences. So they can appeal to a larger audience. Awhile ago, BSB was in town here. They sold tickets to thier show for over 60 dollars a ticket. If I was a musical artist. I'd work less hard, so I could make more money. Especially 60 bucks a shot. (Actually, I believe the showmanship is harder for a pop artist. More vanity oriented).
