you seriously think it's about being "smart"?   I'd argue that most "smart" people wouldn't touch the military with a 10 foot pole.  Some branches have pretty strict "academic" requirements and some of the academies are really strict, but that's not what I'm talking about.  It takes a certain personality to be able to make it through a boot camp and also to thrive in a military environment.  On the other hand there are some personalities that wouldn't make it 2 days of boot camp.  The recruiters know this.  They see them both coming a mile away.  It's part of what they do.

Wow, that was really confusing . . .  But what I got out of it was "they
don't want you cause you're stupid" thing...  Being a well rounded A student,
I think that's hardly the case. As you stated before, not all Marines are
assholes...
