I too was surprised, but I was also very proud. I mean people admire
this
guy (mostly teenagers) for the bands "ability" to drink so damn much.  I
mean
that's what they're known for.  So for him to actually go to rehab, admit to
his problem and take care of it, was a very very strong big thing to do.  It
seemed like a thing for rock stars to die by drowning in their puke (right
now, I can only think of that guy from AC/DC, but I know there's a lot of
them) !!  Much mucho mucho respect to that man...

This reminds me of a story I read about Ozzy, back in the day when he was
wasted all the time, and biting the heads off of bats and birds and whatever
else he got his hands on..he apparently holed himself up in a hotel room for
like eight months and would not come out, he lived on room service all that
time, and i am sure he had a way to get his drugs and booze. I am not sure
how or why he finally decided to leave, but Ozzy was very messed up back
then. Oh and the great John Bonham of Led Zeppelin also died from drinking.
Very very sad.  I get sad every time I watch The Song Remains The Same.
