I mean people admire this guy (mostly teenagers) for the bands "ability" to drink so damn much. I mean that's what they're known for. So for him to actually go to rehab, admit to his problem and take care of it, was a very very strong big thing to do. It seemed like a thing for rock stars to die by drowning in their puke (right now, I can only think of that guy from AC/DC, but I know there's a lot of them) !!
