================================================ Subject: I don't think I said .. wrong about XP From: "creed -7m3 - live" To: Date: Fri 24 Aug 2001 00:21:53 -0400 ================================================ Thanks Keith, I haven't said that I was wrong about XP. Because I haven't read the license agreement or found out the prices for XP (OS) My assumption is, that I was confused about the XP (OS or Office) Also, the comment that I read from the article that I bookmarked and posted the the list. Refers to another person making a statement regarding licensing and is a large factor to my earlier statements. Here is the link and excerpt. Which you read earlier. Again, these are words from another person. Not my words below.I believe that the pondering took on a whole lot of pondering. In my speculations. http://www.zdnet.com/tlkbck/comment/61/0%2c7050%2c113019-842567%2c00.html My concern is this, a company that has the propietery O/S and is now going to a subscription license, renew or be shut down, has it in every gov't office and in every company that supplies gov't contracts, who has the real power? The gov't or the corporation? Who do you want calling all the shots? Of course we would never be told about this, for the need of National Security. Common sense says we ought to ponder this. In reference to XP(OS), I hope that the pricing information becomes available soon. I'd read the terms and conditions thoroughly, before I'd take it from the store. That is, if I had the intention of buying the XP OS, in the first place. Sorry for breaking my word, regarding not commenting further, about the computer issues. Which are becoming bothersome, towards our other listers. Later, Jim On Thu, 2001-08-23 at 23:20, Keith P. For it isn't your father or mother or wife Whose judgement upon you must pass; The fellow whose verdict counts most in your life Is the one staring back from the glass. Some people may think you a straight-shootin' chum And call you a wonderful guy, But the man in the glass says you're only a bum If you can't look him straight in the eye. He's the fellow to please, never mind all the rest, For he's with you clear up to the end, And you've passed your most dangerous, difficult test If the man in the glass is your friend. You may fool the whole world down the pathway of life And get pats on the back as you pass, But your final reward will be heartaches and tears If you've cheated the man in the glass.
