================================================ Subject: Kodak and XP plus Linux tragedy From: "Creed - 7M3 - Live" To: Date: Tue 21 Aug 2001 22:09:47 -0400 ================================================ I know that there was some lawsuit about Kodak and the incompatible drivers. Someone at work said that Kodak decided to supply some setup wizard program. In order to get around a prompt from the windows driver incompatibility issue. I didn't read the article. Though I saw the link about Kodak and Microsoft. So I have no idea about the issues represented in the article. I guess that you can check the kodak website and see if they have a driver and setup program available. Was there an alternative photo program? Provided with XP? Don't feel too bad. I upgraded my computer with the Ximian Gnome beta desktop. There is a program that is similar to Outlook Express. It worked before the update. But failed, after the update. I submitted a bug report and the people that were concerned about the libraries said that it wasn't the libraries. So, I hope that the people that made the "Outlook Express" clone could figure out what is wrong. I'm stumped, because I upgraded both the desktop and the mail program. The funny thing is that I only started using the mail program two days ago. Yesterday, I did the upgrade. But, I didn't check it until today. Then today, the power went out and didn't come back on for several hours. (While my computer was up). When the computer came back up. It had to go through the equivelent of a scandisk. Then had to repair over 20 files. Anyway, I hope you get the Kodak program working. Jim ------------------------------------ Keith P.
