Of course, i haven't heard anyone speak yet of the price for XP. Windows wasn't free. Part of the price you paid for the computer was for the OS. Others paid for the packages. My computer came with ME and only a few programs. Solitaire, MS works, IE5, etc. It does have a feature for cxhecking for ugrades. But When I used it before. The program found an updated driver for my sound card. Foolishly, I installed the update and it caused my soundcard to be silent. (not work). I had to go back and remove the uprade and reinstall the original sound driver. I upgraded my winmedia player, using the "suggested upgrades" and it didn't work either. ME s wonderful, Jim Keith P.
