Like you stated, the companys that let you download thier development for free, can hardly be compared to a napster. I use Redhat 7.1 and if EnGarde compares to version 7.1, it ought to be a pretty good distribution. I bought a couple disks before I got on a cable modem and before they had ISO files available for download. The books that came with the distributions were nice to have. Good luck getting your system operating. I spend most of my time in Linux.Occasionally, i wonder about keeping it dual boot or going all Linux. Windows only gets about 5 gigs of disk space and the rest is used for Linux. But I recommend that you use the smaller drive for your primary drive. The larger drive had trouble with the boot select program (abrieviated LILO).There is a limitation of 1024 cylinders. Where my larger drive is 3736 cylinders. Other than that. It works out for my needs.
