(mostly ncr but a little cr) From: To: Date: Thu 9 Aug 2001 19:37:12 EDT ================================================ Speaking of music in hospital rooms, I've wanted to share this for a while, but since I don't post as much as I used to, I felt awkward. But now's the right time. When my husband died in June, we were at the hospital for about 6 hours waiting to find out what was happening. He was in a coma. The song Everything by Lifehouse popped into my head, as I waited. I didn't really have all the words memorized yet, but somehow they all just flowed through my mind, and I had SO much peace. Sorry to get religious here, but God spoke through that song and reminded me that he would carry me through this. At the funeral, we had a slide presentation that my brother and I put together on Power Point. We did it in groups according to different parts of his life. One section of him as a kid (accompanied by Edwin McCain, I Could Not Ask For More), one of him with his friends (accompanied by Is This The End), one of him with me ( Moulin Rouge soundtrack: the song sung by Ewen McGregor and Nicole Kidman I don't remember the name, but it says "I will love you until my dying day) , one of him with his kids (Higher and Lifehouse's Quasimodo), and finally a group of my favorite pictures of him, showing only halfway through the song Everything. The final slide was of him with Revelation 21:4 below it (He will wipe every tear from their eyes. There will be no more death or mourning or crying or pain, for teh old order of things has passed away.), and it remained up until the song was through. And there was not a dry eye in the house. Music helped me express the things I needed to have closure in his death. And people all over heard about the slide presentation. We had so many emails and letters saying how moved people were. Sorry if I've bored you all, but I wanted to share this. Jen In a message dated 8/8/2001 2:16:50 AM Central Daylight Time, Noras808@AOL.COM writes: << Thanks for the info.... Something nice....
