Not only is it innacurate, it's irritating. -----Original Message----- From: Creed Discussion List [mailto:CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM] On Behalf Of Creed - 7M3 - Live Sent: Wednesday, August 08, 2001 7:48 PM To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: Re: Was - Another one for Win2K and NT users.. Now - Virus != Hacker The reason that Linux ws developed was to give people the option to have a free operating system. Originally, I was using a system called Minux. The goal of me using the system was to learn Unix. The OS of Unix was pretty much in demand. What got me to try Linux again was to learn Unix commands and C programming basics. Then, Redhat came out with version 5.2, which was packaged with a Real Audio player, Netscape browser and a trial of WordPerfects word processer for Unix (Linux). Anyway, with each successive version of Redhat. The abilities of the operating system are tremendous. You can use it to do most anything. Including dealing with NTFS systems. You can have a print server for Windows machines. A proxy server, router or anything you want to use it for. I read Scott's comment to mean that he wasn't in a hurry to upgrade into the new virii attack system of NT4 and NT5. Instead, he might use his computer system, as I do. That is to boot into whichever one that he desires. Since I use Linux and see the strides taken of the system. I realize that Windows just copies ideas from the free system and charges people fees to use it. Windows has become more stable with all of its pirating from the free computing environment.
