I would expect the added barriers to hinder people and cause a formation of seperate groups. Making the nation accept bilingualism is a step towards causing a wider gap to be formed between those that choose to communicate in Spanish and those that communicate in English. I think that everybody should be required to be able to speak english and all studies outside of foreign languages should be taught exclusively in English. Maybe the study of medicine might need a lot of Latin. But Isn't it a dead language? And used primarily for prescriptions and naming scientific species? I thought that not having a language barrier with my school year friends and neighbors allowed us to concentrate on issues of common interest. Just as food can be bad for your system, music can be bad for your spirtual and emotional feelings. It might taste good or clever, but in the long run, it's not going to do anything for you. -- Bob Dylan, "LA Times", September 5, 1984 To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
