Around here, it's not uncommon to go to a restaurant, whether it be sit-down or fast food and find the staff predominantly or completely Hispanic.  (Warning: Stereotype coming) These folks work hard, don't complain, and get the job done -- something that a lot of Caucasian boys and girls don't do -- and probably don't make all that much -- but they are the consummate professionals -- never once have I gotten the impression that they're openly hostile toward their working environment.

Local U.S. residents complain about 'losing jobs' -- but you know something?  These are the jobs that the whining folks shun as being beheath them or a 'last resort'.

Incidentally, to Moonchild -- just because you have ancestry in a culture doesn't automatically mean you do not have prejudice against that particular nationality or race of people.

Actually, I didn't wonder, but thanks for clarifying.  And we've ALL heard nasty stories about the Mexicans, both HERE and in Mexico.  I can tell you from my own experiences that most of the stories (read: stereotypes) are absolutely false.  These are hard-working, honest, compassionate people (there are, of course, exceptions as with ANY other group of people).

And you're 16 right?  What makes you think you'll be too old to have to worry about the BIG quake?

Oh come on, I'll be much too old then to worry about sliding into the
Pacific.  But anyway, I'm wondering if your thinking that I'm racist against
the MExicans for not wanting to be a province of theirs. The answer is no.
I'm a quarter mexican myself, my mom is half mexican and half Italian.  But
the truth is, I've heard alot of nasty stories about the Mexicans in Mexico.
About immigration, ya, sure it sucks because there are alot of people
living in the U.S. with out taxes and other such things.  But then, you have
to realize that they came herre seeking a better life.
