Who exactly was in the area that's now known as Texas first? The Hispanics, or the Anglo's (to borrow your terms)? And regarding your "illegal immigrants" mention... did your family 150 years ago approach the Native Americans and apply for immigrant status, and fill out all the paperwork, and request permission to live here in North America? I'm guessing no... so in a matter of speaking, the Hispanics crossing the border would be about the same... it doesn't make them any worse than your family. About your "multilingual street signs"... we had something like that happening in Quebec and it's surrounding provinces a couple years ago... the use of both French and English on signs... and I don't think it's done so to "cater to illegal aliens" or anything of the sort, but instead to allow for conveniences and safety of everyone who happens to be driving down the road. And besides, what exactly defines the "American National Language"? If you think that the national language is English because that's where most of the citizens originated, then you're wrong, since (and this has been covered), American English isn't real English (ask Ross... he'll back me up... LOL). And like it or not, the percentage of Spanish-speaking people in the states is large. Even just counting the legal immigrants, there is enough in the southern states that speak Spanish as their primary language to make it very fair to have both written languages in the area. In reality, it's the same viewpoints that some are showing about the Mexicans coming into the states now that the Natives felt about the English coming here 500 years ago without permission... so is it all just a matter of "it was okay then, but not okay now"? ¤]\[][G}{T§TÖ®]v[¤ http://NightStorm.isyourgod.com/ NightStorm_Draco_@hotmail.com NightStorm_Draco@creedlist.com NightStorm@isyourgod.com I've seen the wicked fruit of your vine, Destroy the man who lacks a strong mind Human pride sings a vengeful song Inspired by the times you've been walked on My stage is shared by many millions, Who lift their hands up high because they feel this We are one We are strong, The more you hold us down the more we press on What if you did?
