Well, that would pretty much defeat the purpose of "The UNITED States of America". And who would run such a government? The presidency would be pretty much moot (kinda like now, with Dubya!), so there goes the "checks and balances" system, which would leave Congress to do pretty much whatever they want (or do you envision dissolving Congress as well?). > A flag is a dangerous thing to have and is a thing that could make > someone support a country merely by the ensign that it carries. Personally, I feel that a person who supports a country (or ideology) merely because of a FLAG is a moron anyway. I'm not a patriotic American because of a flag, I'm a patriotic American because I support the idea(l)s upon which this nation was built (and for those idea(l)s, check out the U.S. Declaration of Independence and the U.S. Constitution. Also, the Confederate flag was a symbol of much more than just slavery, but you knew that, right? > Don't you worry too much on that issue. You must mean the world order that has the European Union and the Organization of African States, both of which are modeled after our own federal government (however loosely).
