Some guys form a band, write lyrics about things that are important to them, and then when they start getting popular society forces them into a genre. "Okay, you guys are a Christian band... you guys over there, you're alternative... you guys can be - hmm, let's see - how about pop? Yeah, that'll work...". Labeling is just plain irritating, imo. And do you mean Christian bands are the only ones making any sort of positive difference in the world, or Christians in general are the only ones? Either way, you're mistaken. That's not an opinion, that's a fact. I'm not a Christian, yet I have higher personal morals on a lot of things than people who do call themselves Christians... my goal in life is to make a positive difference in the world. But since I'm not a Christian, I guess I won't be able to do that, huh? I doubt that even the bands who really DO sing about sex, drugs, and Satan aren't doing that specifically to keep from being labeled a Christian band... my assumption would be that they sing about those things because those are the things they're interested in, not for fear of being labeled Christian music. Perhaps you should try listening to the words of more than just one or two non-Christian groups (other than Creed, that is). You just might be surprised at what you hear. They're the only ones making any sort of positive difference in the world. Everyone else just > sings about sex, drugs, satan, and anything else to keep themselves from such an ugly label as a "Christian band." Geez forbid that. > > To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: > http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
