Mears" To: Date: Tue 31 Jul 2001 22:55:42 -0500 ================================================ Is it just me, or does this seem like as ridiculous a stereotype as "They're rock stars, so they HAVE to party/do drugs". "Everyone else" would include Staind, who sing about the turmoil that has happened in their personal lives, MB20, who sing A LOT about love and relationships, U2, who sing about anything BUT "sex, drugs, and satan", and the list goes on. If you'll go back and read the first few posts in this thread (which BTW, is AMAZINGLY still on topic, almost TWO WEEKS after the original post!), you'll see that nobody is trying to attach any stigma to the "Christian band 'label'". The original point was, WHY is it that Christian music is not as widely popular as "mainstream" music. And furthermore, Christian bands are the only ones making a positive influence? What about Creed? Not Christian (in THEIR words), but most people on this list at least have been positively influenced by them. ----- Original Message ----- From: To: Sent: Tuesday, July 31, 2001 10:43 PM Subject: Re: Christian Music > Why is it so horrible to get marked as a Christian band?? They're the only ones making any sort of positive difference in the world. Everyone else just > sings about sex, drugs, satan, and anything else to keep themselves from such an ugly label as a "Christian band." Geez forbid that. > > To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: > http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp > > > To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
