Which is why I fall into the 1%.  I like to listen SEVERAL times before forming an INFORMED opinion.  That way, if I DO criticize (either positively OR negatively), I know what the hell I'm talking about.

Sometimes it only takes once to know what's trash and what isn't.  I could go
pick a random CD from the store and listen to it in full and tell you what I
thought of it...and I would probably still feel the same way after hearing it
another 10 times.  Usually first impressions tend to be correct when it comes
to music...to your taste, anyway.  Actually, that's how I ended up with most
of my CD's.  I hardly ever listen to the radio.  I just go by Tower Records
once a week and see what new stuff is in the listening stations and I buy
what I like.  I discovered MOP like that when it first came out.  It was
under the "new artists" section at the special price of 9.99!  But, you're
right about the process of comming to an opinion of music.  It's just that
most people think of the word "critic" with "criticize" and assume all
critics are negative about music...which in Creed's case can be true most of
the time.  That sucks...
