In his foreword to Night Shift (an early collection of short stories for those who aren't SK fans), Stephen King wrote the following: "Sometimes I speak before a group of people who are interested in writing or in literature, and...someone always rises and asks...'Why do you choose to write about such gruesome subjects?' I usually answer this with another question: 'Why do you assume that I have a choice?'" I submit that while the musician would seem to have more "choice" in where they go with their music, in the end, their "choice" comes to much the same answer that King gave.
