Maybe she was just taking the best road for her as an artist? It may have been more of a coincidence than anything else that she remained popular thru it all. Same for U2. People that I know that like U2 are either "new" fans or "old" fans. I know VERY few people that have followed them closely thru all of their albums. Are they less popular? Absolutely not. I submit that they have different fans, perhaps in relatively equal numbers. -----Original Message----- From: Creed Discussion List [mailto:CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM] On Behalf Of Lee Reed Sent: Sunday, July 22, 2001 11:03 PM To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: Re: Odp: Re: Selling Out. .. Band changes interesting points...i'm not a big madonna fan, but have to give her credit as far as figuring out what her fans want...i think she's actually been pretty innovative...and i think her constantly changing image is proof of that...and before you all go giving me shit here...as far as my replies about u2...popmart tour, and zooropa were very innovative...and i liked the direction they were taking...why did they not continue on that road, instead of supposedly going back to their roots?
