With their success, they have plenty of money, so that's not it... They've no doubt been able to name their terms as far as recording and touring commitments go. What's left? When you whittle it down, they're left where they began. If they were going to do something to appeal to the masses, I'd think it would be at the very beginning of their huge success, like during and immediately after The Joshua Tree Tour. That's when they had incentive to keep the train moving. No, I truly believe they're doing what they do -- nothing more complicated than that. And because they can. But that's been their style since I first started listening to them when October was new. GOD I'm old. -----Original Message----- From: Creed Discussion List [mailto:CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM] On Behalf Of Lee Reed Sent: Sunday, July 22, 2001 10:57 PM To: CREED-DISCUSS@WINDUPLIST.COM Subject: Re: Odp: Re: Selling Out. .. Band changes well, as far as a band that has had impact keith, look at u2...and as i just replied to debbi, i feel that their latest, atylb, is their 'sellout' album...it has, imo, more of a pop appeal than anything else they've done...from the political days of sunday, black sunday...to the spit in the face of it all popmart tour...they've always done their own thing...and i feel that with this latest album, they've done the exact opposite and created music for the masses...even tho they have gone on record saying they just wanted to get back to their rock roots...
