Lee ----- Original Message ----- Former Creed Bassist Brian Marshall: Having A Grand Ol' Time > Frank Meyer, Managing Editor > Tuesday, July 17, 2001 10:48 AM > Brian Marshall Launches New Band, Grand Luxx > Former Creed bassist Brian Marshall was as surprised as anyone when he was given his walking papers last August. Marshall had helped start the band out of the ashes of his former outfit Mattox Creed and was there every step of the way as the band rose to the top of the charts with its two smash albums and hits like "Higher" and "With Arms Wide Open." However, he was asked to step down from the band and both parties have been very hush hush about it since. > > "It was all a shock to me," Marshall told MTVnews.com. "I still really don't understand why things happened the way they did. I fell into a state of depression and then decided that the only way I would get through it would be to express my feelings and thoughts through my music again." > > Since then Marshall has been writing material in his hometown of Orlando, Florida and has finally assembled a new band called Grand Luxx, which features members of his old band Mattox Creed. Joining Marshall is guitarist Dan Bartley and drummer Hardy Mattox. Then trio had been auditioning singers in recent weeks and settled on Nashville-born vocalist Matt Knabe, formerly of the band Project Simon. The group has been holed up in Marshall's home studio writing and recording ever since. > > The first public Grand Luxx performance will be an acoustic gig at Wolfy's Den in Nashville this Friday, July 20th. In August the band will play more shows and begin recording a full album. No word yet as to what label will release the effort. > > Return to "The Official Grand Luxx Club": > http://clubs.yahoo.com/clubs/theofficialgrandluxxclub To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
