================================================ Subject: For Mad: NCR -- Jimmy Page From: "Jon" To: Date: Thu 12 Jul 2001 22:46:12 -0700 ================================================ I would agree with you that most metal guitarists (heck, most guitarists period) would site Jimmy Page as their influence. Except the part of the whole 'dating 14 year old girls' thing, of course.... However, even Page and Plant consider themselves rock and roll w/ a tiny bit of blues influence. I don't remember the magazine I read years ago, but being considered 'metal' wasn't something they considered as accurate. Yardbirds, Zeppelin, The Firm, solo, Coverdale/Page (goodness, how can David Coverdale deny he was mimicking Plant all those years after THAT album came out???)....Jimmy's all about style. ----- Original Message ----- From: "Lee Reed" To: Sent: Thursday, July 12, 2001 10:33 PM Subject: Re: Survey thing M/C > yeah, but if you look at the whole 'metal' history, who was considered one > of the first 'heavy' bands...led zeppelin...and who do more 'metal' > musicians cite as an influence...or 'rock' musicians in general? > Lee > To unsubscribe or change your preferences for the Creed-Discuss list, visit: http://www.winduplist.com/ls/discuss/form.asp
